Our classic: The hand-prepared »VÆGABØUND« - jute shibari rope, 6mm thick and 8m or 10m long! Available as a single rope or in a discounted set.

The rope is twisted three times and has good stability while being easy to walk on. Gently* refined with beeswax and organic, cold-pressed jojoba oil**. The rope is thus ready for binding and can be used for binding immediately after unpacking.

More information about the rope:

*The ropes are not broken by me during the refinement. (A process by which the rope is pulled over a sharp edge.) This still common process damages the integrity and durability of the rope in my experience. Instead, I move the rope in on itself several times to make it more supple.

The "Classic" rope contains a small amount of JBO (Jute Batching Oil, a petrolium-based substance that is used in the manufacture of almost all jute products). These ropes are widely used in bondage and enjoy great popularity. However, some people prefer ropes without JBO because they find them more skin-friendly. In this case, there is an option to purchase the Japanese Shibari ropes from my shop, which are made using soybean oil and tapioca.

In Japan, the country of origin of Shibari, jute ropes are the classic ropes for sensual bondage. For a good reason: They are light, resilient - and appropriately tied up - supple, easy to walk on and cuddly. It makes knots compact and the golden brown color of the rope looks beautiful on the body and in photos. Compared to hemp ropes, they are significantly less odorous. New ropes are initially a little stiffer and fluffy, but this quickly disappears after the first shackles. To ensure that your rope lasts longer and remains supple, it is advisable to care for it with jojoba oil** from time to time. However, do not apply too much of it, otherwise the ropes can become "soapy" with body heat.

**Strictly speaking, jojoba oil is not an oil at all, but a vegetable wax. However, since its melting point is 7° C and it is the only liquid wax that occurs in nature, the term "oil" has become established. The advantage is that it has a long shelf life and does not go rancid as quickly as other oils. Due to its antioxidant properties, it not only delays the aging of the skin, but also that of your rope. In addition to caring properties, jojoba oil is also said to have a healing effect.

The oil consists of up to:

70% from gadoleic acid
15% from erucic acid
10% from oleic acid
2% from nervous acid
1% from palmitic acid

Jojoba oil also contains vitamins B and E, provitamin A, minerals and simmondsin. The jojoba oil we use is cold-pressed and organically produced.

Natural fiber ropes are just that: natural products. This means that there may be small deviations in size or colour. Of course, we pay attention to the highest quality when putting together our ropes, but minor irregularities are unavoidable. The use of the ropes is at your own risk. We assume no liability for the descriptions and instructions. We can neither speak for all eventualities nor be held liable for improper use. Each user bears full responsibility for all consequences resulting from the use of the product. Shibari is a wonderful activity, but it requires experience, knowledge of the subject and the possible dangers. Maintain and check your ropes regularly so that you can enjoy them longer and at the same time see whether they are still suitable for a suspension after a long period of use, for example, or whether they should stay on the ground. Attend workshops to deepen and expand your experience with the ropes while learning to tie more safely.
