BONDAGE for Photography 1

The aesthetics and emotionality of bondage and Shibari fascinates and inspires. And hardly any other medium is better suited to show the moments and stories of rope, model, rigger and connection than the camera.

But getting started is not easy for many interested parties. Handling the camera and rope at the same time, creating aesthetic but emotional images or simply securely and elegantly tying them up - all of this is a special challenge even for experienced photographers.

So this workshop is aimed at all those who are interested in combining rope, kink and photography. It is designed as a hands-on workshop, which means that you get the opportunity to captivate and take photos with your model yourself.

The workshop is held by Sascha (rigger, photographer) and Sarah (rigger, rope model) . All workshop content is conveyed to you from the perspective and experience of both the giving and the receiving person.

In the first part of the workshop we teach you the basics of safe and aesthetic restraint - including the essential "trappings" such as safety, etiquette, material science, etc.

We talk about the differences between the two main varieties of bondage photography: images that capture a static, posing model - and images that focus on the connection and interaction between the rigger and the model. In addition, we will introduce you to our special “Playshoot” concept. We are moving away from the typical “pretty” aesthetics towards the “subspace” and the visual language that this makes possible.

In the second part of the workshop you will then have the opportunity to tie your models freely and take photos - accompanied by us, our know-how and, if necessary, our ideas. The intention of this section will be to bring your models into shapes and positions that are supported or forced by the rope in order to create creative or statuesque positions.

In the demonstration phases you will have the opportunity to photograph Sarah ( RopeModel Shibari_Sari ) and the interaction between us.

Framework conditions:

1. Duration approx. 6 hours including regular breaks
2. Max. 5 pairs
3. Tea, coffee, snacks and water are provided for the day. We recommend that you bring something with you for your lunch break.

target group

This workshop is aimed at photographers who want to deal creatively with the topic of rope, Shibari and bondage. Basic photography knowledge is therefore necessary. A partner is required for this event! So we prefer to register in pairs. For individuals, we try to find a solution in individual consultation.

What should I bring?

· Your camera!

· Photo lenses: We recommend a zoom lens (eg 24-70) or a lens with a fixed focal length of around 50mm or 35mm. Ultimately, however, it depends on your individual photography style. So bring along whatever you would bring to a model day or a studio group shoot.

· If you have ropes, bring them with you. (We recommend 2-4 hemp or jute ropes, each 8 m long.) If necessary, rope-ready ropes can be purchased in the workshop or in our online shop.

· A blanket or yoga mat

Dress code

Please bring comfortable clothing for the workshop. We will sit on the floor (mats) for a good part of the workshop. So don't come in tight jeans, but with things that you would wear for a yoga class (e.g. sweatpants, long gym shorts, linen pants, leggings). The people who are tied up should wear tight-fitting and zippers, bra hangers, etc. Ä. avoid.

General terms and conditions: In general, registration is only completed after receipt of payment. Cancellations are free of charge up to 4 weeks before the start of the course. A cancellation fee of 25% of the course fee is due up to 2 weeks before the start of the course, and a cancellation fee of 50% up to 1 week before the start of the course. Later cancellations and refunds of participant fees are not possible. However, participants can find substitute participants and transfer their booked places to them. In the event of cancellation by the organizer, the course fee will be refunded in full. Further claims are excluded.
